What changed in Image 1.0 [1]
Heatmaps
Pangram says heatmaps locate image regions that may contain AI-generated content.
Edited and compressed images
Pangram reports improved resilience to compression, editing and low resolution. This is a vendor claim, not a guarantee for every file.
Minimum image dimensions
The minimum drops from 512×512 to 256×256. Pangram adds a low-confidence warning below 512×512.

Questions and answers
Are these image generators?
No. They analyze existing content for signs of AI generation rather than creating new images.
Does no AI signal establish that a photo is real?
No. A detector can miss AI content; missing credentials or metadata also do not establish authenticity.
Where can I use Pangram’s heatmaps?
Use Pangram’s service at pangram.com. The checker on PangramImage.com does not provide heatmaps.
